About the Booth Guest House
A true historic gem on Roanoke Island
Tucked away on the tranquil north shore of Roanoke Island, sits the stately and charming historic Booth Guest House. Third generation Booth family Innkeepers and sixth generation Dare County natives, John and Noelle Booth have welcomed a variety of visitors seeking a peaceful getaway, a long-awaited coastal vacation, a romantic weekend, or an uncommon and distinctive wedding experience. The well manicured grounds, sweeping views of the sound and position of the sound-side gazebo create a flawless romantic setting for your ideal wedding celebration.
You do not have to be a traveler or wedding guest to enjoy a stay at The Booth Guest House. Every year in late January, John and Noelle are proud to host of the cast of the world’s longest running outdoor drama, “The Lost Colony.” Over 100 actors, dancers, singers and technicians portray the plight of the first English settlers in America, and their mysterious disappearance in 1587. Steeped in tradition, this beloved and award winning dramatization is performed in May at the Waterside Theater during the temperate North Carolina evenings.
Location is everything
The Inn’s location in Manteo, NC, is perfect for enjoying the simplistic peacefulness and graceful quietness of Roanoke Island. Whether retiring from a day of strolling through the charming shops and art galleries in downtown Manteo, exploring the Elizabethan Gardens, Historic Fort Raleigh National Park or the North Carolina Aquarium, or soaking in the enticements of the Outer Banks and its acclaimed beaches, travelers and locals alike have taken pleasure in the warm and perfectly appointed accommodations of The Booth Guest House.
From the moment you arrive, The Booth Guest House feels much less like an Inn and more like the home of a very good friend. It may be the placid, lapping waters of Roanoke Sound, or the treasured Booth family antiques that places you at ease. It may be the inviting and unpretentious private rooms, or the thought and care John and Noelle have put into every detail throughout the house that sets the tone for the languid and serene environment. Whatever it may be, you will know in an instant that you have discovered a place so special, it will forever remain in your fondest memories, and be a favorite part of your future travels to Roanoke Island.
