while still enjoying a view of the the Roanoke Sound.
The
Booth House and surrounding area is frequently requested for
weddings large and small. The breezes from the sound and pleasant
weather serve as a romantic setting for most of the year.
Manteo,
North Carolina is located on historical Roanoke Island, just west of
the ocean beaches. There are plenty of things to see and do - perfect
for the first day adventuring on the Outer Banks.
Manteo
began as a Britsh Colony in 1585, the oldest site for British
settlement in the US. The hearty souls that braved the new world
mysteriously disappeared sometime after 1587. Their memory is preserved
at Historic Fort Raleigh National Park, just north of The Booth House.
Nightly during the summer, the longest running outdoor theater, "The
Lost Colony" is featured at the amphitheater there.
You
may
also choose to visit the North Carolina Aquarium at Roanoke Island.
This facility was established in 1976 to promote
an understanding and appreciation of the diverse natural and
cultural resources associated with the area's ocean, estuaries, rivers,
and streams.
Dowtown
Manteo offers an out-of-the-way shopping area with unique shops that
are sure to please.
